Getting a 10,000ft view of what your company does would help you make better decisions when providing solutions.
But what is a bigger picture of your company ?
From my point of view, this is what I see:
– Knowing what your company offers in terms of products and services
– Understanding what each product offers
– Knowing what teams procure, provision and support each product and how they interact with each other.
– Knowing the stack of tools used to fullfill, support and bill each product.
– Understanding the end to end flow for each product.
All the above would provide you the current mode of operations. So, it is advised to look for what would be the next products/systems on the roadmap and the ones that are becoming obsolete.
